Scotch Pine

This pine is well-known for use as a Christmas tree, and also has been widely planted for a screen or specimen tree. Unfortunately, it is very susceptible to the pine wilt nematode that has spread through the region in recent years. The nematode has no control and is spread by insects to attack other pines, so dead and dying trees should be promptly removed. Stress conditions such as heat and drought can prompt nematode damage.
